Job Title: Specialist, Network Engineer – Herndon, VA
Job Location: L0566 (USA-VA-Herndon-Monroe L3)
Essential Functions:
- Provide networking support to multiple environments including development, testing, performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, ProfiNet.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving of network issues related to but not limited to switches, routers, and servers.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, VLAN, and firewalls.
- Hands-on experience configuring dynamic routing protocols.
- Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
- Define and implement best practices for network and capacity management.
- Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization.
- Reviewing existing network implementation and recommending improvements.
- Conduct analysis of network usage and develop plan to meet future needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to travel when required.
- United States Citizenship only.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- The successful candidate will possess strong initiative with an ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
- Ability to conduct root-cause analysis of issues related to the network and recommend corrective action.
- Experience trouble-shooting complex systems consisting of hardware, software, and communications systems.
- Experienced with government contracts in relationship to providing quality onsite support to customers.
