GENERAL SUMMARY:
Lead, plan and execute security measures to protect the credit union's computer networks and systems. Primary functions in this position include, reviewing security architecture, oversee the administration of cybersecurity tools with emphasis on network security and firewall management, monitor and review security logs and providing security best practice guidance to both technical, and non-technical groups.
The individual in this position will interact closely with product vendors and service providers, personnel from various internal departments, and with external business partners. In-depth knowledge of Vantage West Credit Union operating systems and security applications, as well as a working knowledge of basic network protocols and tools, will also be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Four (4) years information security experience to include experience administering IT security controls in an organization, including:
- Experience in supporting firewalls, proxies, or other network security devices
- Experience utilizing an enterprise support ticketing system
Additional Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience managing firewalls, web application firewall, proxies, intrusion prevention systems, related policies, remote access solutions, load balancers, and network routing in an enterprise environment spanning multiple locations.
- Network certification (e.g., Network+, CCT, CCNA)
- Information security certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, CASP+, CISSP)
- Vendor specific certifications (e.g., PCNSA, PCNSE, CCNP Security)
- Experience working within a financial service organization
- Knowledge of NIST CSF, NIST 800-53 r5, and/or FFIEC guidelines

- Technical proficiency with security-related systems and applications, especially Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Assessment tools, Endpoint solutions, Proxy servers, Security Incident and Event Management Systems, Data Loss Prevention, Active Directory, Identity and Access Management and Permissions Management desired

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
This job requires the employee to sit or stand a majority of time. Infrequent lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. Some nights and weekends may be required.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:
- Manage firewalls, web application firewall, proxies, intrusion prevention systems, which will include researching, designing, formulating, and documenting firewall rules2. Monitors cybersecurity requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related network devices
- Monitor system logs, SIEM tools, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret such activity and make recommendations for resolution
- Research threats and vulnerabilities and, where appropriate, take action to mitigate threats and remediate vulnerabilities
- Review, assess, and mitigate penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on information systems and infrastructure
- Perform threat and vulnerability assessments, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action, to ensure systems are protected from known and potential threats, and free from known vulnerabilities
- Assist and train junior team members in the use of security tools, the preparation of security reports, and the resolution of security issues
- Research, recommend, evaluate and implement information security solutions, which identify and/or protect against potential threats, and respond to security violations
- Conduct security reviews of the network security architecture to identify accesses and assess the risk to these changes
- Report unresolved network security exposures, misuse of resources, or noncompliance situations using defined escalation processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary range is $82,623.08-$108,442.79. Job Grade, EX-15. Final salary is dependent on a candidate's experience and qualifications.
