Position Summary

A Senior-level Environmental Engineer/Scientist at NewFields is responsible for performing various analysis and design tasks related to data evaluation, remediation, feasibility study analysis, designing and conducting field investigations, managing a variety of laboratory testing programs, and analyzing and designing a variety of active and passive remediation systems (including water treatment) using analytical tools, models, and software.

The position requires superior communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to organize and analyze a variety of information to be used for decision-making, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines. An employee in this position is expected to work as a member of diverse project teams and accomplish specific tasks in a fast-paced environment to achieve project-specific objectives. In addition to the technical requirements of the position, it is expected the person in this position will be designated as a Project Manager for particular assignments, requiring skills in managing the scope of work, project schedule and budget, project team, and all safety requirements associated with the tasks.

Requirements:

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.

Experience Requirement: A minimum of at least ten (10) years of progressively increasing engineering/ environmental science-related experience.

Certifications: HAZWOPER experience is required. A valid HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Software: The position requires the applicant to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office© software. Working knowledge of various types of numerical modeling and water treatment software programs is advantageous.

Potential Travel: Travel to project sites located in the United States as needed. It is expected that approximately >95% of work time will be spent within the individual's home office.

Job Location: Englewood, CO.

Physical Demands: The position requires sitting/standing for long periods, extended hours working on a computer, and lifting to 30 pounds. Field assignments can be located in various environments and cultures, including complex and diverse climates. During field assignments, standing, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds may be required over prolonged periods.
