Job Title: In-Vehicle Infotainment Modeling Software Engineer
Location: Dearborn, MI
What you’ll be doing:
The position will support the creation of embedded software utilizing a Model Based Design (MBD) development approach. This role is in a high-growth domain: In-Vehicle Infotainment feature development. The candidate will support development of future product offerings and leading-edge technologies used to deliver the next generation of In-Vehicle Infotainment features in vehicles. The selected candidate for this position will gain insight into Product Development and In-Vehicle Infotainment business and planning processes.
The selected candidate will work closely with existing team members to progress and mature projects to ensure deliverables to the downstream IVI development organizations meet expected requirements and deliverables.
Projects vary from year to year. Current projects support development and testing of next generation SYNC, embedded modem development and testing, vehicle cloud connectivity development and testing, mobile app development and integration testing, as well as multiple additional In-Vehicle Infotainment development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering requirements for feature development
- Discuss with feature owners and validation teams to capture the feature requirements
- Create the feature implementation plan
- Developing vehicle features in modeling environment
- Develop Stateflow / Simulink models from feature specifications
- Feature validation in Simulink environment
- Auto code generation from Simulink feature models
- Develop features following AUTOSAR guidelines
- Feature Validation
- Validate the feature functionality on a test bench
- Troubleshoot the issues using CAN tools like CANoe, VehicleSpy, etc.
What you need for this position:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience of modeling using Simulink and Stateflow required. A strong understanding of State flow is a must.
- Minimum 2+ years of Automotive domain experience required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in MATLAB Scripting
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in CAN protocol
- Experience with standard scripting languages or programming languages
- Experience with code generation using Real-Time Workshop (RTW)
- Knowledge and experience in unit level and system level testing
- Adequate knowledge for reading schematics and data sheets
- Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
Preferred:
- Embedded C programming
- Automated testing in MATLAB, Simulink environment
- Experience using Vector tools, CANoe, CANAlyzer and automotive communication protocols like CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet
- Exposure to AUTOSAR layered architecture and or a functional understanding of the standard (3.x / 4.2)
- Experience working with AUTOSAR RTE, MCAL, VFB etc.
