BraveView has been engaged to represent an established landscape company servicing residential and commercial clients within the Birmingham AL market. They provide high quality landscape maintenance and design/build service with 60% of the maintenance work being Commercial to include Class A properties and 40% is classified as High End Residential.

This is a leadership position as this person will drive the success of the maintenance division by building teams, fostering communication, training on best practices, policies and procedures, and developing a culture that is focused on employee development, safety and quality control. The maintenance division has 28-30 employees, 12-15 total crews and two Operations Managers.

The key to this role is to be able to read reports, understand margins, identify areas that need improvement by spotting trends early and making necessary adjustments to alleviate issues before they become costly issues.

Turnover at the field ranks has been a bit of an issue and this needs to be addressed. We are looking for a leader who can build trust, provide guidance and coach team members to take responsibility and to do a high quality job in a safe manner consistently.

We want a leader with strong character and ethics, a good representative of the company, a good communicator with excellent follow up skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactive planning and forecasting of maintenance contract budgets, hours, equipment, and other needs. Directly responsible for the performance and profit/loss of the division.
  • Oversee the schedule for all maintenance crews.
  • Effectively partner and communicate with peers, teammates, direct reports, other company leaders, and clients.
  • Quality assurance and training within the maintenance division to ensure our retention goal of 90% or greater.
  • Effectively coach, lead, and hold accountable those under his supervision. Develop other leaders so that we build a “bench” in key positions.
  • Promote and champion the maintenance division within the company as well as externally
  • Contracts performed within estimated hours and budgets
  • Client communication (and team communication) is frequent and thorough to benefit the success of all, yielding a successful relationship and positive feedback.
  • Training is being built into the culture of the division such that crews are performing to client and company expectations in quality and efficiency.
  • Turnover is kept to a minimum as a result of good coaching, accountability, and training.
