Scope of Job: Paramount is looking for a passionate, self-motivated Sr Software Test Engineer to handle all aspects of testing (functional, performance, load, security, etc) across a large multi-platform environment. This individual will be partnering with various teams (product, engineering, and quality) by assisting with the development of processes and tools that allow the organization to excel in its continuous software development initiatives. As code is being delivered multiple times per day, test coverage and automation is crucial in allowing products to deliver quickly to market while maintaining the high level of quality our consumers deserve across our many diverse platforms.
** To be considered for this role, you must have experience in Java, mobile testing (Android), both manual and automation experience, and expertise in Appium.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical quality engineering guidance to the projects and resources that are assigned by implementing testing standard processes
Work on product/project teams developing test plans, test cases, and test execution
Partner with software engineering to design and develop tools and to assist in continuous development initiatives
Conduct technical assessment of process and teams
Perform load/performance testing where applicable
Work alongside and mentor other test engineers to continuously improve process and provide recommendations for our internal training bootcamps
Contribute to and help maintain the testing framework for functional testing on Android platforms
Operate in an agile software delivery methodology focused on testing new features within an iteration and providing near-immediate feedback to engineers through test automation
Perform exploratory testing where necessary in addition to regression testing
Effectively communicate complex and/or difficult information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting many products on varied release cycles
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Android products
Proficient in Jira or any other bug-tracking tools
Experience in test case creation and management programs like TestRail
Knowledge of proxy tools for device debugging (Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Httpwatch)
Experience using tools (New Relic, Figma, Zeplin)
Experience in mobile and/or OTT testing
Experience with Android Studio, and Android Device Bridge (ADB)
Ability to export system logs via LOGCAT
Experience in analyzing various types and causes of defects (API vs Client)
Strong knowledge of software quality practices and ability to learn & adopt emerging concepts
Strong software development and technical architecture skills
Strong object-oriented programming background and a passion for scalability, reliability, and reusable code
Experience with Java
Experience with version control systems (svn, git, stash)
Experience with test tools (Junit, TestNG, Appium, Android UiAutomator)
Proficient with continuous development tools and build tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc)
Experience with Agile testing methodologies
Technical/working knowledge of information technology concepts, local and wide area networks, content delivery networks, database theory, and understanding on caching strategies
Phenomenal problem-solving and analytical skills.
Self-starter who can work autonomously
3+ years of designing and working with test automation frameworks and developing automated test scripts (mobile & new technologies) specifically object-oriented frameworks
Proven background in software engineering and is well-versed in software quality standard processes
3+ years working and testing with various online research and analytics tools
2+ years working with and leading offshore resources
Experience with online streaming video experiences (mobile & OTT technologies) is a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field and/or equivalent work experience
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 130,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
