a Senior Mortgage Loan Underwriter to join our amazing team!
What you’ll do:
- Perform mortgage credit analysis.
- Evaluate and verify loan applications and credit.
- Calculation debt ratios.
- Verification of applicant income and employment.
- Approval/Denial of loans.
- Run, review, and interpret DU/ LPA/ GUS, when applicable.
- Providing training for and mentoring Junior Underwriters and / or newly hired underwriters.
- Maintaining updated status with management and attending meetings
- Staying up to date with local/national economics and any legal or regulatory changes
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
- The ability to act as FHA, DE and/or VA Automatic, USDA and SAR Underwriter.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable experience.
- Knowledge of credit union loan services, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to review legal documentation, title reports, insurance policies, flood certificates.
- Experience with Encompass preferred.
- Knowledge of mortgage related regulations and compliance, as well as agency guidelines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and written documentation skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving
