What You'll Be Doing
Armstrong Utilities is seeking candidates for a Senior Financial Accountant position in Butler, PA. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and analysis for the Armstrong Cable organization. The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results oriented professional who is an innovative thinker. The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Job Duties:
  • Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assists in the coordination of the month end close process
  • Reviews accounting records and transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts
  • Participates in the timely preparation, review, and distribution of monthly quarterly, and annual financial statements including, but not limited to, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, local management reports, cost allocation reports, and capital expenditures reporting
  • Develops and prepares relevant, meaningful and comprehensive management reports which provide comparisons to budget and historical trends
  • Actively supports the annual financial audit process
  • Communicates and presents results to local and upper management
  • Proactively identifies areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting Department
What You'll Need
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or MBA preferred, but not required
  • Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience

  • Strong technical, data, and reporting skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
