Position Overview
Exact Science’s Customer & Digital Experience (CDX) team is responsible for defining, driving, and delivering innovative, immersive, memorable customer-centric journeys for all our customers, across all channels (digital and physical). These journeys are grouped by Customer Types (e.g., Patient, Provider) and further categorized into a set of Experiences (e.g., Understand Risks & Complete Screening, Confirm Diagnosis). Each Experience has a set of specific, measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that the overall team is accountable to fulfill.
The Senior Specialist, Design Operations is a critical role under the CDX Design Ops team to guide and manage the orchestration and optimization of people, processes, and craft in order to amplify design’s value and impact at scale. The Senior Specialist will work with the CDX Design team on a daily basis managing workload, tools, resourcing and helping to create efficiencies and remove blockers from an operational lens.
This role will report to the Head of Design Operations and will work closely with them on the implementation of an Experience Design Center of Excellence (CoE), which will standardize, socialize, advocate for, and manage the CDX experience design processes, playbooks, toolsets, rituals, etc. This role will require strong collaboration with stakeholders across the CDX Design team and other business units, with a balance of diligence, tact, and influence.
Essential Duties
Include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Function as liaison between Experience Design team and program/project management teams - communicating/tracking status, drive identification/tracking/resolution of Experience Design team-specific impediments.
  • Work closely with the Head of Design Ops on the evolution of the implementation of an Experience Design Center of Excellence (CoE), which will standardize, socialize, advocate for, and manage the CDX experience design processes, playbooks, toolsets, rituals, etc.
  • Coordinate the implementation of a standardized Design System and promote the usage of the design system across the CDX team.
  • Manage content review processes (e.g., marketing, legal, operations).
  • Manage resource demand planning by monitoring and optimizing allocations of Experience Design team.
  • Support Head of Design Ops and CDX leadership in defining success metrics for the team; manage the tracking and reporting of those metrics; support the team in promoting their accomplishments.
  • Develop relationships with cross-functional team members in Product/Project Management, Engineering and UX to ensure a smooth operational process.

  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 5-10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field of study; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management, program management, or operations with at least 2 year’s experience in the digital domain using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience applying techniques and methods of modern program management and/or design operations – along with expertise with program management platforms and tools.
  • Experience engaging with designers, researchers, engineers, SMEs, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship where you can both learn and influence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to agilely adapt to the respective audience (team member to senior leadership) – including simplifying and communicating complex ideas to broad audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proactive and logical approach to workload and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and feel comfortable leading a team of designers through resource planning, pipeline management and prioritization. Assist in removing blockers and pain points for the team.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Miro and Figma.
  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or digital health.
  • Experience with both B2C and B2B products and/or services.
  • Passion for digital products, technology, creativity and openness to new design ideas.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams – especially UX teams - to deliver products/services.
