POSITION:
We are currently seeking a highly promotable Senior Accountant with extensive experience in operational accounting in the private sector. This position will report directly to company Controller. Initially, the candidate will spend time learning the details of several other financial positions within the company for the purpose of backing-up the positions. After the initial assignments are completed, the candidate will be responsible for preparing journal entries, doing balance sheet account analysis, bank reconciliations, assisting with the month-end financial close and other activities as needed to support the Finance Department. For the right candidate, this position could lead to the Controller position.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate will be responsible for multiple aspects of the Finance Department including the preparation or assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements, account reconciliations, the month-end closing process, preparation of the monthly balance sheet and Income statement, assisting in annual external audits and budgets, tax accruals, and other assignments as needed
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum BA / BS in Accounting and relevant Accounting / Finance related experience.
Very strong computer skills: Excel proficiency is required.
Operational accounting experience within the distribution or manufacturing sectors.
Experience in improving processes and internal controls
Highly Detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and adherence to financial deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
Comfort interacting regularly with operations areas and all levels of management.
Self-starter who is highly organized.
