The scale operator is responsible for all facets of the operations of a truck weighing process. The duties include, but are not limited to, weighing trucks using state of the art systems, creating, collecting and reviewing non-hazardous waste manifests, recording all information in a computerized weighing system, running reports, sampling inbound materials, and filing.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
