Petland Puppy Consultants are dedicated to matching the right puppy to right customer and meeting the needs of both. They MUST follow Petland operating systems to ensure the highest standards of customer service, animal husbandry, sales performance. A few key items have been listed below to to reiterate their importance.
Job Requirements:
- Strong Communication skills, both oral & written.
- Ability to follow operating systems and directions from the leadership team.
- Flexibility & stamina to work retail hours.
- Must be able to wear and maintain the Petland uniform.
- Must have the ability to interact with employees and customers.
- Ability to understand Spreadsheets and Google Docs.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to work with a team of other employee as well as other members of the leadership team to ensure the business goals are met.
- Must be able to repetitively lift 40 lbs comfortably.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining high level of customer service and sales performance committed to excellence.
- Must have the ability to be Taught, Educated, Influenced, Persuaded, Motivated and Developed by the Leadership Team.
- Must use the Petland Mission, 7-Steps to finding a puppy a home and 4-Basic Needs to provide excellent customer service
- Must maintain a high standard of appearance and professionalism with one's self and staff by maintaining good hygiene and the Petland uniform.
- Must be able to be held to a high level of accountability through daily reviews of average tickets, dollars per hour; use and review of employee scorecard.
- Must maintain a high level of professionalism & positive attitude while inside of the 4 walls.
Maintain high level of Animal Husbandry and cleanliness, particularly the in kennel and Supply/Pet side.
- Ensure the Completion of Puppy Side Opening/Closing procedures.
- Clean and maintain any/all equipment provided via Petland Summerville ~Report issues/malfunctions~
(Including but not limited to breeder books, computers, sprayers, etc..)
- Maintain a clutter and debris free sales floor.
- Maintain a well kept floor, and smudge/streak free windows.
- Communicate all important information to leadership team.
Complete Business Monitors and paperwork in order to properly analyze daily operations.
- Ensure the Completion of one's Scorecard and daily action lists.
- Ensure the completion of Puppy paperwork & its placement into designated area.
- Strong Communication skills, both oral & written.

Training:
- Daily Training
- Based on the 5 different Categories we Track through the Scorecard.
- For every Red you must watch the Training Video that goes with that Subject. (Until White or Green)
- Role Play of those videos will Also be done daily. (Until White or Green)
- Weekly Training - Mandatory
- Every Saturday @ 9:00 am .
Pay Structure:
- Every Puppy Counselor receives a base pay of $15.00 hourly or Performance pay percentage (Whichever is greater) ranging from 4-7% based on Scorecard performance areas.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $50.00 per hour
