JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Detail:

1. Primary goals are to provide customer satisfaction and maximize parts sales for dealership.

2. Acts as principal contact between technicians, service advisor, vendors, retail and wholesale customers for parts.

3. Ensures that parts and accessories are correctly inventoried, stocked, and readily available for resale.

4. Maintains an understanding of objectives using proper parts look-up, sourcing, inventory control, pricing, and merchandizing.

5. Uses analytical, communication, and customer service skills to fulfill parts orders and ensure profitability of parts department.

Education:

  • Requires a High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years relevant experience and manufacture training preferred, but not required

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensures that a high-quality level of customer service is provided to both external and internal customers.
  • Assists all customers in selecting required or requested parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
  • Answers incoming phone calls, providing price and availability quotes along with additional information as requested.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
  • Notifies Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or materials that may need immediate attention.
  • Inform the customer, sale department and service management of the arrival of special-order parts.
  • Monitors, maintains and follows up on back-order parts files.
  • Replenishes assigned inventory daily, weekly or monthly.
  • Ensures that all parts requests are properly billed to repair order or parts invoice.
  • Receives and records payment (cash, check or credit card) from retail or wholesale customers, or obtains credit authorization.
  • Checks to make sure all daily paperwork is complete, void of mistakes, and is handled in a timely manner.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership’s guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships within and between departments, including employees to minimize conflict and maximize dealership profitability.
  • Will be responsible for keeping the parts department, parts storage area, and working area always organized and clean.
  • Ensures that all in-store sales are signed for by the customer and that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
  • Issues credit for returned parts, ensuring that the original invoice (or its number) is available for verification of pricing and re-stocks part to appropriate location.
  • Keeps orderly records of all parts requests, repair orders, invoices, estimates and special orders.
  • Assists with stocking in and receiving incoming orders.
  • Performs random bin inventory checks as assigned.
  • Assists in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory and return.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership guidelines.
  • Effectively communicates concerns or ideas for improvement to management.
  • Works with other personnel and departments to ensure a timely turnaround of parts required for jobs and customers.
  • Performs a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of all paperwork.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Performs additional tasks and duties as required.

Nature and Scope

  • Reports directly to the Parts Manager

Physical Job Requirements:

Position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, walking, reaching overhead, and ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
