Job Description
A part-time Information Technology Assistant is being sought to support the IT Staff at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, in Roanoke, VA. Under the direction of the IT Director, projects will include workstation deployment, IT asset inventory management, and General IT support. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented person who enjoys interacting with others, being a key part of a diverse and active environment, and managing multiple project duties. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience in essential IT support.
Required Qualifications
Must have a strong work ethic and organization skills to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt quickly to changing computer environments. Ability to communicate and interact with diverse clientele. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment instructing users in the operation of hardware and software packages.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with computer security, prior help desk work, inventory management, Adobe products, system deployment tools, and Windows system administration. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar field or equivalent experience and training.
