POSITION SUMMARY:
The
Graphic Designer supports internal communication and HR initiatives, and is a core member of the Marketing & Creative Solutions team within Boston Medical Center Health System's (BMCHS) Marketing and Communications department. The Graphic Designer reports to the Senior Manager of the creative team for creative oversight, while she/he works closely with the Internal Communications Manager to ensure effective communication and process to support the needs of the HR department. The Graphic Designer is responsible for successfully executing creative strategies and standards established by the creative leadership for a wide range of media formats including web, mobile, email, video, signage and print specific to marketing and communications needs for HR and internal communications.
The ideal candidate has well-developed critical thinking skills and can process, react to, and solve problems in a timely manner as they arise. They must be able to showcase their creativity in visual communication by working effectively and collaboratively to bring the BMCHS's brand to life through various channels. Must be able to follow directions from creative leadership and clearly communicate design intent. The ability to ensure an accurate, consistent, and compelling experience of the brand in all media is essential to this role.
Key projects include, but not limited to producing: Benefits Package and Annual Enrollment materials, DEI Year in Review publication, Talent Acquisition campaigns and design assets for Careers website, new employee orientation and onboarding materials, training, and other employee events or communications.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Conceptualize, design and produce materials in print and electronic/digital form (e.g., print collateral, videos, motion graphics, social & digital media) ensuring the corporate brand is brought to life consistently and accurately.
- Execute on creative vision of senior creative members of the team and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Communications and HR account managers to design pieces supporting internal initiatives as well as external recruitment efforts, community engagement, workforce development and the Volunteer Services organization.
- Creatively seek out and maintain cutting edge industry knowledge of trends, tools, and technology.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously with the expectation that changing workflows and priorities will arise regularly.
- Organize assets within brand's data asset manager.
- Assist with video/animation for various channels.
- Assist with photo selection and editing.
- Thrive in hybrid work environment and attend key marketing and HR team meetings as well as employee events produced by the HR team to better understand and engage with key audience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in graphic design, visual arts, or other related field.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years of professional graphic or interactive design experience.
- Online portfolio is required to apply.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Visual Arts, Design, New Media.
- Experience working in a visual design function for nationally known organizations or agencies preferred.
- Possess strong conceptual skills, high level sense of design, layout and typography, a broad thinker who can offer a variety of design solutions.
- Understanding of marketing principles supporting the ability to manage a brand's visual identity effectively and to develop impactful marketing creative.
- Ability to oversee all design elements, from the initial conception to final delivery with minimum supervision.
- A strong portfolio showcasing work in both digital and print.
- Experience in any animation is a plus.
- Experience with photo editing is a plus.
- Great communication skills and ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Ability to apply style guide creatively while maintaining brand standards.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects.
