Teaching staff will create a positive classroom learning environment for students ages 6 weeks – 5 years old. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, manage the classroom and take care of children's basic needs (feeding, diapers/ toilet training included). Have on going professional communication with peers, directors and parents regarding students daily.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attend to the basic needs of children, such as serving food and drinks, changing diapers, assisting children in the restroom and comforting children when needed.
- Maintain individual student feeding and diapering schedules per parent instruction.
- Communicate with parents daily through Tadpoles app and conversations at drop off and pick up.
- Develop and implement lesson plans utilizing Creative Curriculum models.
- Organize indoor and outdoor activities for the purpose of ensuring student participation in learning activities
- Create a positive classroom learning environment that is conducive to hands on active learning.
- Allow for child – centered learning and embrace “teachable moments”.
- Manage student behaviors to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Adjust lesson plans to accommodate the individual needs of students.
- Asses children’s progress through Creative Curriculum and use those assessments to provide feedback to parents and directors.
- Report incidents to the director (injuries, behavioral issues, etc.) in a timely manner
- Complete 12 hours of training annually and any additional training assigned by directors
