The Construction Controller is responsible for all construction related accounting operations including accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, variance analysis and treasury functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
● Supervise the day-to-day operations of the finances and general accounting activities.
● Establish and set internal accounting controls to mitigate risk.
● Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and processes.
● Conduct internal audits to assess financial status.
● Understand construction accounting concepts such at AIA requisitions, prime contracts,
subcontracts, commitments, change orders, retainage, lien waivers, insurance.
● Manage all applicable tax filings.
● Manage month end closing while assisting with review of the financial statements.
● Facilitate and assist with annual financial audit, the preparation of all related paperwork and coordination with CPA organization.
● Engage in annual budget process.
● Track daily cash availability, daily invoicing and accounts receivables, fixed asset accounting, production reporting, inventory control and reconciliation, sales and use tax processing.
● Perform Bank Reconciliations
● Assist in month end close journal entries, account reconciliation, cash and data management, and financial analysis.
● Master Sage 100
● Maintains confidentiality of all information.
● Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
● Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 10 years Construction Controller experience. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a background check, with no prior convictions or any felonies.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
● Experience with Sage100 preferred.
● Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize workload to meet
tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Highly motivated to continue to develop professional licenses, certifications, and expertise through formal training and on the job experience.
● Key relationship and customer focus is required.
● Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
● Outstanding team player.
● Strong proficiency with financial systems application, including Sage 100, a Windows
environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as
PowerPoint).
● Skilled in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and
implementing recommendations.
● Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality.
● Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.

● Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit for prolonged periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. Tight time
constraints. Evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required.
