Seeking a Fully Licensed Adolescent Mental Health Therapist LPCA or LMSW with a Specialty in treating children and adolescents.

We are looking for Associate level licensed therapists with a strong desire, experience, and skillset to work with children and adolescents from a trauma lens. Training, or willingness to obtain training in Brain-based, evidence-based therapies including one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)*
  • Ego States Work/IFS
  • Expressive Arts Therapies: Play, Art, and Music therapies
  • Somatic-based treatment
  • Attachment-focused

  • EMDR Training must be completed with an EMDRIA Approved Provider

Therapists already trained in EMDR are also encouraged to apply. This position is part-time, but we will consider full-time for the right person. This is a primarily in person position with a mix of telehealth sessions. We will train you on how to ethically and effectively provide trauma-informed therapy (including EMDR) via telehealth. As of May 6, 2023, 75% of sessions are being done in person.

We are a compassionate group practice led by highly experienced leaders with experienced trauma clinicians that have a passion for helping people, particularly those with trauma. In addition to evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy, we also provide neurofeedback and neuropsychological assessments. Our clinical focus is on identifying the root of trauma and other emotional issues to foster permanent, lasting relief.

Due to our excellent reputation, The Center for NeuroPotential receives referrals from physicians and other mental health clinicians from all over the state and beyond. This position is supported with administrative and billing support to our therapists so you can focus on providing the highest level of care without distractions!

Patients are highly motivated to heal. We prescreen all potential patients to determine if they are a good fit for our practice. Because of this screening, our clinicians have a high retention rate and are able to successfully treat and discharge patients. We do not offer weekend or 24-hour coverage. We refer out individuals with active suicide ideation or acute substance abuse.

This is not a temporary or short-term position. We are seeking clinicians to be part of our team and consider the Center for NeuroPotential a clinical home base for years to come.

Our Ideal Candidates:

  • Fully licensed in Connecticut (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psy.D or Ph.D.)
  • Provide clinical care from an evidenced-based mindset possessing passion, desire, and skill
  • Prefer to work with a strong clinical team
  • One to three years in the behavioral health industry is preferred. Bilingual - oral and written fluency in both English & Spanish is also preferred
  • Coordinate clinical care with clinical and administrative staff

Compensation:

$35 - $45 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, trauma-informed psychotherapy to motivated patients who want to heal from children through the lifespan
  • Perform other necessary duties as required by the Center for NeuroPotential to achieve the goal of providing high-quality care
  • Seeks autonomy in their clinical practice while having the support of a group practice
  • Participates in consultation with an open, engaging willingness to learn
  • Strives for clinical excellence seeking professional growth and continuing education
  • Is prepared for clinical duties and responsibilities
  • Conduct brief clinical check-ins for clients receiving neurofeedback (brain wave training)
  • Open to learning neurofeedback and participating in weekly neurofeedback rounds
  • Communicates with the entire team by participating in open, honest dialogue
  • Participate in individual consultation with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant
  • Completes requirements for EMDR Certification
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Displays flexibility to the clinical needs of patients and the team
  • Complete tasks including documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintain requirements for licensure, including continuing education credits
  • Complete required training (e.g., HIPAA compliance)
  • Adhere to all organizational COVID-19 precautions, which include wearing a mask in public areas and disinfecting your office between clients

Qualifications:

  • Previous clinical experience with PTSD and expertise with evidence-based, brain-based therapies preferred; preferably across the lifespan
  • EMDR training preferred; Applicant must be willing to begin EMDR training if not already completed
  • Training in attachment, ego states, and early trauma is preferred. Must be willing to obtain additional training in these areas as needed
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Open communication, with a willingness to learn and implement new techniques and knowledge
  • Must be flexible to meet the changing demands of clinical needs
  • Applicants must have a passion for, and experience in, treating trauma
  • Applicants must be familiar with providing virtual online therapy
  • Applicants must adhere to ethical standards
  • Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Applicants must be able to document in an EHR in a timely fashion
