A new, one-doctor practice in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh looking for a full time veterinary technician (preferably licensed). We have a beautiful office and a great clientele. Experience with anesthesia monitoring and digital dental X-rays is a plus.

Applicants must:

• Be patient, calm, and compassionate with every pet
• Be professional in attitude and appearance at all times
• Be able to use gentle, safe restraint on dogs and cats and be able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Obtain patient histories and TPRs
• Perform diagnostic tests such as fecals, urinalysis, hematocrits, ear cytologies, and run in-house blood analyzers
• Obtain, appropriately align, and restrain for digital X-rays while adhering to safety measures
• Place intravenous catheters; give IV, IM, and SC injections
• Perform venipuncture and collect lab samples
• Prep and recover surgical patients
• Prep and sterilize surgical instruments and packs
• Intake and discharge surgical patients
• At times, perform client service duties such as greeting clients, making appointments, answering phones, entering charges, and processing credit card payments
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and professional atmosphere of the hospital at all times

Pay rate is negotiable based on work experience, licensure, and skill level. Shifts are 8 hours long, 8am to 4pm sharp, Monday through Friday. No walk-ins or late day emergencies. No weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts.

The brand new facility is located in the lower level of the Lawrenceville Shopping Center. Parking is readily available.
