Arizona Veterinary Oncology (AVO) is pleased to announce that we are growing and have immediate openings for two Medical Oncologists to join our team. We are a close group of medical and radiation oncologists with over five decades of collective experience and are looking forward to being able to serve more communities with our patient-centric, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary style of practice.
With three locations in the Phoenix Valley, you can expect to join a busy, experienced team and to be able to work within a full-service oncology practice, as well as alongside many other specialties.
Why AVO?
We are the largest oncology practice in the southwest (not just in Arizona). Our location and reputation mean we regularly attract clients not only from Arizona, but also from the surrounding states. This leads to a busy and varied caseload. We also offer a unique experience through a partnership with the Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. We not only provide their oncology services inside their gorgeous teaching hospital (they are not a distributive model) but we also provide lectures and teaching opportunities for the students. The MWU motto of training students who are “first day ready” lends itself perfectly to allow seamless integration of a busy practice in an academic environment. We have a Varian Trilogy Linear Accelerator with VMAT technology and are working on installing a second accelerator in the Valley in the near future. The medical oncology staff is comprised of many experienced, certified technicians who are well-versed in chemotherapy access and delivery.
Each of our locations are housed within multi-specialty centers, so you have constant access to other specialties working together with you.
We offer generous wages, medical benefits, vacation and sick time, a 401k with match and profit sharing, and a generous signing bonus.
Why ARIZONA?
Besides relishing in 300 days of sunshine per year, the Phoenix metro area is home to all four professional league sports and is a college town with multiple Arizona State University campuses in the area. Arizona offers year-round outdoor recreational activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing, golfing, wineries, resort style living and so much more! Arizona enjoys GREAT temperatures (our average temperature for the year is 72.6 degrees and the average temperature during the winter is a lovely 67 degrees in the valley). Is it hot in the summer? Yes. But just as you avoid the freezing temps where you are now, you learn to modify your schedule here in the summer for a couple of months (and it is easier to cool down in the pool or lake than it is to warm up in front of a heater!).
So give me a call and let’s set up a visit so you can see first-hand what a great practice we have and what a wonderful place Arizona is to call home! All inquiries kept strictly confidential.
