University of Notre Dame researchers do great things. If you are driven to help researchers increase the size, ambition, and boldness of their research proposals, if you want to provide a stable influence for imaging needs on research programs, if you want to engage with students and other team members, all while utilizing your technical skills as a staff scientist; then the Integrated Imaging Core Facility is for you!
We help the researchers at the University of Notre Dame by providing an integrated suite of sophisticated microscopes and imaging stations that enable expert users to address the most complex modern research problems and, equally important, expert staff, including research specialists to guide the non-expert users. We accelerate research programs by serving as the continuity of knowledge for that research leader, thus making subsequent projects quickly come on line with limited transition or downtime. Sound interesting? Then our team could be the right place for you!

- Interact with the NDIIF teams and the requesting researcher to suggest the most relevant protocol for sample preparation.
- Train and monitor research students and team members to conduct traditional sample sectioning and staining techniques independently.
- Work alongside the NDIIF staff to conduct a small but regular list of administrative duties which may include usage reporting, annual supply and asset inventory, risk management and safety inspections, and contract management for new and existing users/vendors.
- Share successful sample preparation stories through the NDIIF website and social media. Generate and conduct an annual NDIIF user satisfaction survey. Communicate with users through email listservs. Represent the NDIIF at outreach events such as the Core Facility Fair and the Undergraduate Fair.
