POSITION OVERVIEW
The Space and Facilities Supervisor oversees the Space and Facilities department that is responsible for courthouse construction, renovation, remodeling, and tenant alternation projects for the United States District Court and Probation and Pretrial Services Office for the Central District of California. The position collaborates with other administrative services departments to provide services to approximately 800 employees of the consolidated court. The position supervises a staff of seven and reports to the Chief Deputy of Administration.
The United States District Court and Probation and Pretrial Services Office for the Central District of California is the nation’s largest federal trial court, serving seven counties and a population of more than 19.3 million people, nearly half of the population of the State of California.
The Central District is comprised of three divisions: The Western Division (Los Angeles), the Southern Division (Santa Ana) and the Eastern Division (Riverside). In total, 28 active district judges and 24 magistrate judges have been authorized for the district. There is also one authorized part-time magistrate judge in the district. These judicial officers, along with senior district judges, serve the California Central District in permanent court facilities.
The US Probation & Pretrial Services Office is headquartered in Los Angeles with satellite locations in Hawthorne, Lancaster, Long Beach, Riverside, Santa Ana, Whittier, Ventura, West Covina, and Woodland Hills.
