Reporting to the Director of Software Development, .Net Developers are responsible for designing, modifying, developing, writing and implementing new products and features. We are looking for a developer with an understanding of Lean startup concepts and a “get it done” attitude. A self-starter with demonstrated skills in .NET development, 3-tier application architecture and SQL Server schema design and T-SQL development.

From developing highly scalable client facing tools, designing a premium user experience, to building microservices from scratch, we are seeking a talented and creative technologist with a diverse skillset. It’s a fast-paced environment, with a team focused on delivery and innovation. Identifies opportunities for improving software development methods and procedures and communicates recommendations appropriately. Works within product team environment to implement against and deliver on product requirements and solicit more information as required while create functional and technical documents for software products using Visio. Practicing standard development process leveraging agile methodologies within two-week sprint cycle.

As a Visible .Net developer, you will work closely with your team members to continually improve our standards, processes and solutions. Your ability to resolve issues at various stages of the software development lifecycle will be integral to your success. As you develop in this position, you will build custom integrations and software to solve problems for our end users and improve their overall experience.

Requirements

What you will do:

  • Research and design hardware and applications
  • Evaluate systems requests to determine feasibility in relation to time, cost and business policies
  • Meet and consult with various levels of administration and staff for systems planning, design and integration
  • Define project scope, constraints, perform fact finding, observe operations, analyze cost, determine scheduling, evaluate technical feasibility, and report the results to stakeholders and management
  • Determine application, system, security and hardware specifications and requirements based on research and analysis
  • Research, design, and develop systems solutions that best meets the need of systems requests
  • Configure and maintain systems
  • Proactively monitor for system and security threats and vulnerabilities and take action to mitigate
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director of IT Infrastructure
  • Should be skilled in cloud (azure) platform
  • Provides technical leadership and assumes accountability for successful development and implementation of complex technical cloud solutions.
  • Work to develop software test plans collaborating with hardware engineers to assess and test hardware and software interaction
  • Coding, testing and debugging programs according to computer engineering specifications
  • Modifying, expanding and updating applications
  • Communicating with a team that includes analysts, engineers and quality assurance testers in order to coordinate and document application development and testing
  • Developing software prototypes
  • Documenting software specifications

Who you are:

  • You have working knowledge of hardware and systems technologies, specifically with Microsoft software installations and internal applications
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are experienced working in a Freight/Logistics setting
  • You have experience implementing (not just utilizing) formal software design patterns in solutions.
  • You have a solid understanding of REST principles
  • Your ability to write and debug complex stored procedures/triggers in Transact SQL is top of class
  • You are experienced with .NET 4.0/4.5 framework and Visual Studio
  • You have experience with ASP.NET MVC, Web API and/or WCF services
  • You have experience with Git
  • You are always trying out new possibilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year
