The Sr. Network Engineer/Enterprise Systems will provide Enterprise-wide support for LAN, WAN, and WIFI Network Systems. Support includes but is not limited to implementation, maintenance, and trouble resolution of the network infrastructure and related peripheral systems. Responsibilities of the role also include providing mentoring to IT Team members, serving as an escalation point for technical issues as well as the documentation of processes, procedures, and system configuration.
Key Job Responsibilities:
System Management
- Monitor Network System performance including LAN, WAN, and WIFI resolving issues as needed.
- Analyze, design, and implement cloud-based services.
- Design, integrate, deployment, and maintenance of Kubernetes platforms.
- Coordinate outside resources for the implementation of system upgrades, changes, and trouble resolution.
- Provides input on strategic initiatives including but not limited to capacity planning and system supportability planning.
- Assist in evaluation and reporting on new technologies and initiatives.
- Provide timely information for IT budgeting.
- Ensure Network System operational integrity and reliability is maintained while keeping unplanned down time to a minimum.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of network equipment.
- Provide input to IT Management to ensure systems are properly licensed.
Security
- Ensure key systems are current with critical updates related to security, reliability, and supportability.
- Ensure timely remediation of security vulnerabilities reported via system scans and other forms of security vulnerability discovery.
- Ensure system configurations are consistent with industry best practices, compliance requirements and Carrols Policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company material and information.
Documentation/Communication
- Maintain documentation as directed by IT Management. Examples include SOX compliance, PCI Compliance, operational procedures, change documentation, system configuration, etc.
- Assist in development of technical specifications and SOW for the procurement and deployment of new technologies.
- Participate in infrastructure related corporate policy and procedure definition.
- Keep IT Management and appropriate Carrols staff informed of assignment status, system status, and trouble resolution status timely communication and weekly written status reports.
Miscellaneous
- Provides and escalation point for technical issues across the Enterprise.
- Support acquisitions by meeting schedule commitments and assisting to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Mentor IT Team members by serving as a reference for technical skills and knowledge.
- Weekends, holiday, and nighttime support will be required as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5years professional experience equivalent required.
- Knowledge of WAN, LAN, and WIFI networking in a large-scale environment.
- Knowledge of network equipment configuration and implementation for various hardware manufacturers, along with logical networking topology and support.
- Knowledge of networking security concepts.
- Intermediate working knowledge of SOX and PCI compliance desired.
- Project management skills required.
- Experience working in a large QSR or Retail environment desired.
