Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Public Safety Officer is responsible for patrolling and inspecting Lake Winnepesaukah property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, employee/guest injury, illegal activity and/or inappropriate guest/employee activity in accordance with company policies and procedures. Public Safety Officers will also assist in directing vehicles in parking areas, directing traffic, and assisting guests wherever possible. The Security Division is directly involved in loss prevention. Public Safety Officers will carry a two-way radio at all times while on duty. The Public Safety Officer must also be able to respond promptly and efficiently to any situation, therefore, mealtimes are not scheduled, and will be taken at the discretion of the Safety & Security Department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Public Safety Officers must have a valid drivers' license.
  • Job Qualifications are stated in essential functions of the job description. Each Public Safety Officer must be able to accomplish the essential functions in order to be competent in the job.

  • Able to follow safety practices and be safety conscious.
  • Able to interact with guests and employees in a friendly, but firm manner to provide for a good guest experience and enforce safety rules.

  • Able to learn and remember all areas of the Park.
  • Able to work effectively independently as well as with a group.
  • Able to learn, comprehend, and enforce Lake Winnepesaukah policies and procedures.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to follow daily operational opening and closing procedures.
  • Able to respond quickly to unusual situations.
  • Able to handle minor complaints and suggestions from guests in a calm and professional manner or seek additional assistance from supervisor if necessary.
  • Perform checklists faithfully and honestly according to procedure.
  • Clean work areas daily or more often, as needed.
  • Able to write legibly to complete reports.
