Research Assistant
Position Summary
The RA will assist a faculty member in conducting scholarly research. This high-skill position requires the ability to complete any of the following tasks: literature database searches, writing literature reviews, coding/entering raw data, ‘cleaning’ data sets, analyzing data, writing results and conclusions for a study.
Required Qualifications
The student must:
- be a graduate student in Mental Health Counseling due to the need to have knowledge of the profession and the related literature,
- have training and competencies with hypothesis-driven database searches, writing literature reviews, use of APA citation style
- have strong and conceptualization writing skills,
- have interest in working on a specific research project designated by the hiring faculty.
Preferred Qualifications
The student ideally has:
- experience and/or training with SPSS and/or R for statistical analyses,
- experience and/or training with data management (e.g., ‘cleaning’ data, coding data),
- prior scholarly publications for which they had an active role in the research and writing process.

Support a faculty researcher on their research project at any part of the process (e.g., IRB proposals, data collection/entry/cleaning/analysis, and manuscript preparation.
