Opening April 2023, Kiewit Luminarium is a new, next-generation science center that will joyfully engage people of all ages and identities to explore astonishing phenomena and learn with their hands. Anticipated to be one of the crowning jewels of the region and a national force in its field, Kiewit Luminarium’s interactive exhibitions and programs will inspire lifelong interest and careers in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Our purpose-built, 82,000 square-foot facility is rising on the Omaha RiverFront, and we are building the talented team that, together with collaborators and visitors, will bring Kiewit Luminarium to life.

The Kiewit Luminarium Operations team is a dynamic and highly-collaborative group of professionals responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facility, attracting and growing talented employees, workplace policy and practice, and the safety and security of visitors. The People Operations Coordinator will support a variety of activities with a special focus on human resources including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, development, and workplace policies and procedures. The position reports directly to the VP of Finance and Operations and will work closely with the People Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support current projects with a strong commitment to detail, timing, and impact
  • Assist Managers and VP with project logistics and administrative tasks
  • Support mission-aligned, people-centered workplace policies, processes, and procedures of diverse teams
  • Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, benefit administration, and other HR-related activities
  • Serve as a thoughtful and people-focused resource for managers’ and employees’ needs and questions

Experience & Key Competencies:

  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent work experience) with minimum 2-3 years people operations coordination
  • Cross-cultural fluency and ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Experience in project coordination, particularly in people operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with outstanding service orientation
  • Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail and ability to problem solve
  • Nimble with a knack for implementing innovative ideas
  • Ability to support highly diverse team for superb outcomes

Competitive annual salary, commensurate with experience, $60K+.
