Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Yamashiro Orthodontics is a local, private, orthodontic practice in Boulder that is known for our high quality outcomes and our expertise in complex cases. We are looking for an experienced orthodontic technician to join our team with the intention to grow with our company. The position is full time, and we are looking for an assistant with a positive, energetic attitude, and a team-player mentality. All of our technicians are cross-trained to help answer the phones if necessary and maintain somewhat of a running knowledge of the treatment plans of our current active patients. As an orthodontic assistant at our office, you will find that you can develop quite a relationship with some of our influential patients. You would be responsible for performing:
- orthodontic adjustments (changing wires - centered & cut to length) with Damon or Twin brackets
- Invisalign appointments (uploading Rx's and adjusting aligners per the doctors instructions, bonding attachments etc.)
- taking high quality records (photos, xrays, impressions/scans)
- treatment charting
- fitting bands and taking impressions for appliances (like Herbst or expanders)
- pouring up impressions and making essix retainers
- Sterilization/sanitation
- Maintaining HIPAA and OSHA training
- Assisting with initial bondings and discussing OH and progress with pts and parents
- Delivering appliances and debonding and polishing teeth
Other responsibilities might include bonding lingual retainers, and inventory/restocking of the clinical supplies.

Our hours include four full days and one half day during the week.

Mondays - 10:00am-6:00pm ; Tuesdays - 8:00am-5:00pm ; Wednesdays 7:00am-4:00pm ; Thursdays 8:00am-5:00pm ; Fridays - 8:00am-12:30pm or 12:00pm-5:00pm (Schedule subject to change with Doctor Schedule)

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Dental Assisting: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
• HIPAA and OSHA certificate (Preferred)
