Relocate to Salida, CO

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in beautiful Salida, CO is looking for certified Medical Lab Technologist, Medical Technician, or Medical Lab Scientist to join our dedicated team of healthcare professions. We have part time and full time shifts available. Night/ evening shift differentials will be granted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for MLT - MT- MLS

• Performs established protocol for instrument preventive maintenance/function verification.
• Organizes workload so as to complete testing in the most appropriate manner
• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Adheres to established quality control policies, documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations performed.
• Adheres to the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance and is responsible for assuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate.
• Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical supervisor, clinical consultant or director.

QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

MLT

• Minimum of Associate's Degree in Medical Technology (Chemical or Biological Sciences) or Medical Laboratory technology from an accredited institution
• Two years’ experience preferred, but not required

MT

• Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, physical biological or clinical laboratory science or meet other provisions defined in CLIA 42CFT 493.
• Two years’ experience preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• National recognized laboratory certification such as ASCP, NCA or AMT is required within 6 months of hire
• Current CPR/BLS certification
