Colorado Recovery Solutions is a woman/veteran/psychiatrist owned and operated, OUTPATIENT interventional psychiatry and holistic brain health center with multiple locations in Colorado Springs and Monument, CO.This position is a great opportunity for a medical assistant to join a passionate and supportive mental health treatment team from the ground up.
This position is located exclusively in Monument, CO.
Under the supervision of a board-certified Psychiatrist, their designated mid-level provider (NP or PA), or registered nurse, the medical assistant will:
- Monitor 90-120 min Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray treatments, on site, for patients suffering from treatment-resistant depression and suicidal thoughts.
- Takes and records vital signs multiple times throughout Spravato treatments
- Complete daily Spravato treatment notes and submit daily notes to Spravato REMS program.
- Ensure the treatment setting rules of engagement and clinical safety parameters are closely adhered to.
- Coordinate patient care with the clinical supervisors
- Reports concerning symptoms or abnormal vital signs to clinical supervisor immediately
- Performs front office administrative duties as needed such as scheduling follow up appointments and leading the morning huddle for the clinic
- Abstracts charts, i.e. transfers information, from electronic patient intake forms to EHR provider intake forms
- Assists with making appointment reminder calls to patients
- Assists the infusion nurse as needed
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification (REQUIRED)
- Must be able to assist patients from sitting to standing (REQUIRED)
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds (REQUIRED)
- Dispenses supportive medications on site, as needed, and when ordered by prescriber (REQUIRED)
- At least one year of work experience in any mental health or addiction treatment setting (PREFERRED)
- CPR/BLS certification (PREFERRED) --(will be provided on site at clinic if needed)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a clinical team (REQUIRED)
- Excellent work ethic along with willingness/desire to learn and teach others. (REQUIRED)
- Upholds the highest of professional standards to include avoiding personal conflicts with other staff members; uses positive language without profanity, course talk or offensive speech/behaviors (REQUIRED).
- Upholds the highest level of patient privacy as dictated by HIPPA (REQUIRED).
- NEVER communicates with patients outside of the clinic except through pre-approved, monitored and secure devices such as designated work computers and phones (REQUIRED).
- Understands the importance of following chain of clinical supervision as well as administrative reporting such as changes to work schedules and time off (REQUIRED)
- Follows dress code which includes solid-colored, clean and serviceable scrubs and appropriate jackets and (REQUIRED)
- Proficient in typing, using a EHRs, email, chat, text, electronic documents, and speaks English fluently (REQUIRED).
