Lockheed Martin Space in Englewood, CO is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, planning, and integration for flight as well as ground systems. Your duties will include responsibility for the design, manufacture, procurement and test for the initiation system, separation, and mechanism ordnance components, assemblies and systems. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities.
Manage and maintain long-range Ordnance procurement profiles that meet both program level requirements as well as subsystem testing requirements.
Coordinate across various teams and groups to ensure testing needs are properly represented and accounted for in procurement projections. Provide Procurement leads with proper allocation of Ordnance hardware upon completion of testing. Work with technical leads to provide program and customer updates on the status of Ordnance hardware procurements. Evaluate and validate near-term procurement quantities for annual proposal cycles and assist in proposing Ordnance labor and non-labor efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in a STEM field or related technical discipline and exposure through directly relatable experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint)
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting (Creo or similar)
- Understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals
- Familiarity with Ordnance and Propulsion systems
- Familiarity with Project Engineering, Program Management, and/or Planning
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
