THE ROLE:
The purpose of this role is to coordinate maintenance training efforts for Nyrstar East TN Mines. This individual will coordinate with the site Mine Trainers to ensure all training is properly conducted, recorded and maintained and will partner with leadership to focus on solutions to build necessary skills and competencies to all ETN maintenance employees to reach their full potential.

Function/ Production:
- Supports Nyrstar values of preventing harm, being open and honest, keeping our word, taking bold decisions, be driven, use innovative and creative thinking, and creating value
- Ensure compliance with statutory / legislative and Corporate requirements
- Conduct Competency based hands on training (circuit boards, engine on bench, drill hammers for rebuild, bench hydraulic systems, etc.) and maintain related records for employees
- Identify training and development requirements by conducting needs analysis on site results, job requirements, operational problems, business plan, and existing training programs
- Develop and implement training programs and workflows for maintenance employees; work with maintenance leadership to address identified training gaps
- Ensure all trainings are effectively budgeted and monitored to within cost constraints
- Develop methods and tools to measure development and training initiative impact and effectiveness across the sites
- Facilitate implementation of training programs to ensure success of the business plan; integrate fatal risks into training content
- Coordinate training schedules, monitor and record training activities
- Develop content for classes such as intro level, intermediate, and advanced; Identify, select and manage outside resources for training services, as needed
- Be aware and seek all the training funds available for East Tennessee Mines
- Coordinate technical training and certifications such as Vodia, Volvo, CatSys, Sandvik, Cummins, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years’ experience in maintenance and/or training
- Current/recent master mechanic designation and understanding of maintenance strategies and practices in a mining environment
- Strong computer and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills
- SAP IT Systems knowledge, desirable
