General Summary:

Working mostly out of Nurtury’s Learning Lab Center in Jamaica Plain, this position reports directly to the Director of Facilities, with an indirect report to the Learning Lab’s Program Director. Responsible for keeping the Center secure, safe, and clean.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for opening and/or closing the building.
• Inspect property to ensure safety and cleanliness for daily use.
• Repair and maintain equipment and physical property as assigned. Submit work orders (e.g., electrical, HVAC, etc.), as required.
• Pick up and transport supplies and materials to and from other locations as needed.
• Be available to secure building for any reason until proper equipment, materials or personnel become available.
• Assist staff with any room preparations for meetings and events, to include tables, chairs, AV equipment, decorations, etc.
• Remove trash and clear snow from outside surroundings.
• Be readily available to support projects at other locations as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions:

• Ability to read, write and follow verbal instruction in English.
• Knowledge and ability to use power and hand tools.
• Knowledge of woodworking, plumbing, electrical systems and masonry.
• Demonstrated skill in math as necessary to perform job functions.
• Reliable personal transportation vehicle.
