As a Junior Buyer, you will work with our world-class production team, as well as with leadership and cross-functional departments, to lead and manage the procurement of assigned commodities and services. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that CPS Products is using the most effective purchasing strategies, both for individual purchases and for overall buying.
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, statistics, industrial engineer, operations or other relevant field from an accredited college or university.- 1+ years’ experience in procurement and sourcing
- Proven proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Excel
- Efficient organization and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Process purchase orders, expedite, and ensure orders are confirmed in a timely manner.- Maintain and evaluate inventory levels as necessary to meet demand and to reduce E&O.
- Resolve availability issues.
- Track orders to ensure promise dates are met.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors. Evaluate them and conduct QBR
- Provide resolution on the status of any supplier delivery or quality issues to internal customers.
- Process RMA requests with vendors in a timely manner
- Maintain awareness and understanding of department key deliverables and how buying decisions impact those deliverables.
- Conduct initiatives to reduce price through negotiation with existing vendors or sourcing efforts.
- Researches and analyzes current and future buying trends, markets, and products.
- Conduct projects and assignments independently.
- Other duties assigned by management.
- Support the team when needed.
- Follows all policies and procedures of Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resources and Quality Department. Reports any safety deficiency to immediate supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
