Front Desk Receptionist Part Time

Thursday & Friday-3;30-7p

Sunday 8-5

Responsible to perform reception duties in an efficient, pleasant and professional manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures and as directed by supervisor.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Operates paging/telephone system as required and monitors courtyard via surveillance camera.
  • Answers telephone, determines nature of call and relays information within the facility as necessary.Takes messages correctly for personnel who are unavailable or locates personnel through the paging system.
  • Receives inquires and releases information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Greets and gives directions/information to visitors, guests, residents, sales representative, etc.Ensure that existing rules are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrants such action and to remain calm during emergency situations.
  • Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to understand and operate mechanics of a multi-line telephone/paging system.
  • Must possess patience and the ability to relate tactfully with personnel, subordinates, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of word processing systems.
  • Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required--bending, stooping, turning, stretching, reaching above the shoulders and occasional lifting are involved.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position.
  • Must be able to observe, listen and communicate effectively.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
