Job Description
As a FedEx Ground driver, you have flexibility throughout your day and the freedom of driving. You will be driving our vehicles and be supplied with all the necessary equipment to do the job. You are in charge of completing your route with flexibility of your speed and when you take breaks. You are in charge of how long your day lasts. Most drivers work from 7:30-4:30PM, but some get done earlier and some later depending on speed and stops for lunch/breaks.
All we ask is that you show up in the morning with a positive attitude and complete your shift safely and accurately. We are looking to hire friendly, safe drivers that have a teamwork attitude, strong work ethic, and good dependability.
Hours may vary daily depending on the day of the week, route, and amount of stops / volume for the day. We run routes 6 days a week, Monday – Saturday.
A Day in the Life of a FedEx Driver
Broken down into three parts 1. Picking up and Loading Packages of ranging sizes, weights, and quantities on to Truck at the Danville terminal and complete pre-trip inspection 2. Safely Deliver and Pickup Stops to residential and commercial properties on your route using company-provided technologies (iPads & Scanners) 3. Returning company truck to terminal once all stops are complete, unload packages from pickups, and complete post-trip inspection.
Other tasks include: Regular Safety Training and Meetings, Following up on disputes or misdelivered packages, Cleaning company vehicles, Logging time worked, Assisting fellow drivers as needed, and Assisting managers as needed with various tasks to maintain a safe working environment and equipment.
Requirements:
· Commercial Driving Experience: At minimum of 6 months is required, more is preferred.
· Clean Motor Vehicle Report & Conduct Background Check
· No DUI/DWI
· Must be over 21 years old
· Ability to safely lift/move up to 150 lbs. with a hand truck
· Driver’s License
· US Work Authorization, we E-Verify
· Ability to read, speak, and written English
