Books & Brews is looking for an Event Director / Game Master to help plan, organize, and run events at the store (sample events we've done in the past listed below). The pay is typically $40 - $50 per 2-hour event but pays hourly for longer events (based on experience) in addition to employee discounts / perks.

Event hours will vary based on the event. Weekday events will typically be between 6pm - 10pm and weekend events can be as short as two hours (theme trivia, game tournament) or as long as all day for a festival-style event (Harry Potterfest, Yule Ball, Pop-up Hop Fest).

The number of hours worked per week will vary based on the events that are scheduled. We welcome Game Masters that would like to work one 2-hour event per week as well as Game Masters that are interested in turning the position into a full-time 40-hour per week job.

We are located on 9402 Uptown Dr #1400, Indianapolis, IN 46256.

*Theme Trivia (Harry Potter, Parks & Rec, The Office, Friends, etc) *Themed Marketplace Events (Diagon Alley, Author Events, Maker Events, etc) *Game Tournaments (Settler of Catan, Magic the Gathering, etc) *How to Play Events (Yugioh, Dragon Ball Super, Digimon, etc) *Product Release Events (Pokemon, sports cards, etc) *Specialty Events (Harry Potterfest, Yule Ball, Lego Building, etc)

Responsibilities:

*Organize and plan event schedule *Work within a budget to buy supplies for events *Clean, organize, and decorate the store for events *Operate each event on site and develop relationships with guests *Run game tournaments and handle gameplay, prizes, and guest interactions *Train staff on event details and duties *Utilize social media to promote events and engage / invite guests (as necessary) *Tear down and clean up after events

Qualifications

*Excellent organization and communication skills *Experience / Knowledge of trading card games (Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, etc) or desire to learn *Experience / Knowledge of board games (Settlers of Catan, etc) or desire to learn *Experience / Knowledge of running live trivia or similar experience performing / entertaining guests *Friendly, out-going, dynamic customer service-oriented attitude
